What is Takaful?

The word “Takaful” is derived from an Arabic word “Kafala”, which simply means to assist and give assurance to the one’s need.

Unlike conventional insurance system, Takaful is purely based on sharia law (i.e Islamic law).

Takaful has its foundations on mutual assistance and voluntary contribution.

The risk in Takaful is mutually allocated by a body of participants, who agreed to pay a specific contribution to the pool, this pool hence called “Waqf Fund”. Such kind of contract is a guarantee against any loss or damage to any one of them which will be compensate cooperatively.
